A Kurt Angle Surgery Makes Lockdown Questionable

I reported here that Kurt Angle is having arthoschopic knee surgery on February 11, 2014. He was suppose to have it sooner but TNA Wrestling has their UK Tour and is advertising Kurt.

Kurt Angle wins TNA World Title over Sting

With arthoschopic knee surgery taking about 6-8 weeks for recovery, Lockdown is only 3 and a half weeks away from his surgery date. I wouldn’t start counting on a Kurt Angle match at Lockdown.

We should point out that the status of Sting and Jeff Hardy may very well be in question as well. Sting’s contract is coming to an end and he isn’t advertised after this Thursday’s Genesis show. Jeff Hardy has a two year contract he signed last year but this year is an option year and TNA could very well try to restructure it and Jeff may not take it.

With Kurt out, and the recent departure of AJ Styles, talent is going to be very slim for at least two months. This very well makes sense as Dixie Carter is trying to get new stars.

What are your thoughts on this? Will this hurt TNA or will it help them push new talent?

Brilliant updating Alex! A conundrum indeed. But Magnus can benefit a lot from the UK Tour. Star power will be under the limelight. Could help TNA build some new people. Cmon Sting, sign a new contract

I think that this is a perfect scenario for TNA. They now have to push some new main event talent. They currently have Magnus as their World Champion. Why not book some of the mid-card/new talent as viable contenders. This will give TNA a nice problem when the likes of Sting, Jeff Hardy and Kurt Angle return. Surely the time is now for the incredible Christopher Daniels to have a prolonged main event run.

I for one don't care if Sting returns to TNA. I like him, but they don't seem to know what to do with him so let him go and save the money.

Angle leaving due to injury is no big deal. They can work it into his current storyline with Roode. When he returns, it will be all the better.

Jeff Hardy not coming back would be a drag. While I am not a Hardy fan, I do acknowledge that he pops the crowd and he can still go in the ring with anyone. He should be someone they keep for sure.
