BAD INFLUENCE VS. JOSEPH PARK & ERIC YOUNG
TNA Booking Sheet: Joseph Park & Eric Young def. Bad Influence.
Ric’s Booking Sheet: Bad Influence def. Joseph Park & Eric Young via DQ.
Analysis: Starting off the in-ring action is a tag team match between Bad Influence, Joseph Park and Eric Young. Park & Young take the win after Young busts Joseph Park open for the blood to run. Park sees the blood and turns, taking care of Bad Influence. Afterwards, Young tells Park that he is Abyss as Park is left disagreeing and thinking in the ring.
This program has gone on way too long. It can’t be stressed enough. This entire Joseph Park angle should have been resolved in less than one year, but we’re here 18 months later. In any event, Ric’s Booking Sheet actually has Bad Influence over Park & Young via DQ. Because of the continuous verbal and physical abuse taken by Joseph Park, seeing red tonight should have let loose a bomb that cared for no one in its wake. Destroy Bad Influence and push the ref away to cause the DQ with a Black Hole Slam to send Bad Influence to the back with the same post match segment with Eric Young. In this scenario, Bad Influence doesn’t lose steam while Young and Park remain focused and move forward with the Joseph Park character.
TNA X-DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: TNA X-DIVISION CHAMPION CHRIS SABIN VS AUSTIN ARIES
TNA Booking Sheet: Austin Aries def. Chris Sabin (New Champion).
Ric’s Booking Sheet: Austin Aries def. Chris Sabin (New Champion).
Analysis: In a very athletic and fast paced matchup, Austin Aries defeats Chris Sabin to become the new TNA X-Division Champion. An interesting turn of events for both men who end the year in very different places from the early to mid part of 2013.
Chris Sabin was not booked properly after his TNA World Heavyweight Championship win in the summer. He had momentum going and, quite suddenly, turned heel and became X-Division Champion. It’s easy to say that winning the X gold really didn’t do any favors for Sabin. Not to say that holding the belt hurt Sabin, but he really didn’t need it to prove his points in his heel persona. Austin Aries was questionably booked due to an incident, made quiet and returned to the spotlight he deserved after paying his penance. The second half of 2013 looked to be big for Austin Aries in his ascension in TNA. The second part of the year has been good to him, but he needs to be in the world title picture somehow. Winning the TNA X-Division Champion tonight is his meal ticket to the main event and a shot at the ultimate gold. However, let’s not forget that the X-Division, sadly once again, needs its credibility restored, and what better man to do that than Austin Aries.
FEAST OR FIRED MATCH: SAMOA JOE, NORV FURNUM, DEWEY BARNES, JAMES STORM, CHRIS SABIN, GUNNER, JAMES STORM, CHAVO GUERRERO, HERNANDEZ, TNA X-DIVISION CHAMPION AUSTIN ARIES, DJ ZEMA ION AND ETHAN CARTER III
TNA Booking Sheet: 1-4 Briefcase winners – EC3(3), DJ Zema Ion(2), Chavo Guerrero(4), Gunner(1).
Ric’s Booking Sheet: EC3, Gunner, Samoa Joe, Chavo Guerrero.
Analysis: Mr. Anderson and Curry Man were part of this match, but Bully Ray took out Anderson on the stage as he made his entrance and Curry Man left the bout on his own (not wanting to be involved). At the end, the 4 competitors who took advantage of the match, and the briefcases, have been decided. Next week, we will know their fate.
In a bout such as Feast or Fired, so much is going on and there is alot of logic that needs to be analyzed to better understand why who went over. EC3, Gunner and Chavo Guerrero are understandable winners. EC3 and Gunner look to be making waves as we make it into 2014. Chavo Guerrero, strangely enough and pointed out by a fan on Twitter, looks to be the one in trouble as the Twitter fan made a comment that Chavo’s t-shirt(s) (If I recall) were selling on ShopTNA.com for $4.99. DJ Zema Ion could have been left out of a briefcase win, as he should be focused more on The BroMans and establishing himself again through that avenue. Samoa Joe would have been a preferable winner of the last briefcase.
Another IMPACT Wrestling broadcast where the first hour is video/ segment/ vignette/ drama heavy, while the second hour is more focused on the wrestling aspect of the show. It’s interesting to see the direction TNA has taken these past two weeks, and is something that actually worked better this week thanks to Rockstar Spud, who had a strong presence in the first hour.
