Determined Tough Enough Contestant Tapped For This Week’s Impact

Ivelisse VelezFormer WWE Tough Enough contestant Ivelisse Velez is scheduled for the TNA Gutcheck Challenge on this week’s episode of Impact Wrestling.

WWE fans became familiar with Ivelisse during the resurrected Tough Enough reality series in 2011 where she was eliminated due to a leg injury. The company later signed her to a developmental contract where she worked in NXT Wrestling (formerly known as Florida Championship Wrestling). After working only a couple of matches in the summer of 2012 on WWE NXT, Velez was released from her contract in August 2012.

Vélez didn’t a leg injury derail her pro wrestling aspirations and has continued to work since being released from WWE. She’s booked dates with Family Wrestling Entertainment domestically and with AAA in Mexico.

Vélez worked a tryout match with TNA last October and will apparently get another shot on Thursday night.

She’s got the look and the determination that is much needed to make it in this business and we wish her luck on Thursday night. Would you like to see Ivelisse Velez as the newest TNA Knockout? Why or why not?

I have been writing this for several weeks in my "Alex's Assumptions" part of my Impact Wrestling results that I think TNA should bring in new Knockouts for the division. The match the division had last week was absolutely great, but we see the top Knockouts all the time. There isn't anything wrong with that happened in WWE when their division was something, but I think they should bring in new people. We need new and fresh characters.
